Subway Against Homeschooler’s? I Think Not!

Here are a couple of places that have covered this issue:

Here is my (as a homeschool parent) take on the subject:

I have found people’s reaction to this interesting. This is how I
look at it: I love Subway, I do not want the $5,000 for anything, we
can raise any money that we need on our own, and it is Subways’
contest. They have the right to do as they please. It is, after all,
their money. I don’t want anyone telling me how to spend my money, so
why should I tell them how to spend theirs.

I will still eat there, and I don’t care if my children and I can’t
enter the contest.

Perhaps a better way of dealing with the situation would be to write
to them and ask them to hold a contest for homeschool families. I do
believe that they are giving away athletic equipment because it goes
with their trying to offer healthier food and their trying not to
make people fat, etc., etc. So, the goal would be to get them to
sponsor a contest for the homeschool families in their town, either
for:

A. The homeschool group of the persons choice – Money to help sponsor
a fitness day for the families in the group.

B. A field trip for the family to something fitness related, like
hikes or bike riding events, including a stop at
Subway.

Why attack them when there could be a better alternative.

PS. If anyone wants to pass this post or these suggestions along,
feel free. We should be trying to work with the businesses in our
communities before we work against them. And their are far worse
things going on in our communities that we could be trying to help
with.
